Prologue
"He does not know that his body is in reality we trillions of cells that work tirelessly and in harmony to produce his consciousness. He imagines that he is dead. He imagines death because he cannot face the truth, his deeds, his motives . . . the conclusion. But he must not rest in the fantasy of death because he has work to do. We trillions will put him on his feet. Once on his feet, his eyes will clear. He will see the shadow of his enemy also being lifted by the trillions of cells that work tirelessly and in harmony to produce the enemy's consciousness."
Episode # One
THE VICTORIOUS SPEAK
The priest blessed us.
The priest gave us absolution on the battlefield.
We did our patriotic duty.
When the cause is just, it is our moral duty to kill the nation’s enemy.
Ah . . . but now I doubt. Is the nation’s enemy my enemy?
“Thou shalt not kill.” “Vengeance is mine saith the Lord.”
Pyrrhic victory? Manifest destiny? God is on our side?
The priest's blessing gives us courage to ignore our doubts.
Chorus of the Dead
Ready aim fire! Ready aim fire! Ready aim fire! Ready aim fire!
Did we hit? Did we miss? Did we hit? Did we miss?
Did we win? Did we lose? Did we win? Did we lose?
Did he live? Did I die? /Did I live? Did he die?
CHORUS
Mother Nature through the death and resurrection of the seasons has reconciled the world to herself and sent the Great Spirit of All Things among us for the forgiving of sins and for the giving of pardon and peace. In the name of All Things, your sins are absolved.
